4/27/2017 Yangervis Solarte, SD, 2B
The resurgent Solarte had two doubles and two RBIs on Wednesday.

Analysis: It was the third straight multihit effort for Solarte - a span in which he's 8 for 14 - after going 11 games without one. He's hit safely in seven straight, scoring or driving in a run in all of them.
4/27/2017 Paul Goldschmidt, Ari, 1B
Goldschmidt had three hits and three RBIs on Wednesday. He also stole a base and scored a run.

Analysis: Goldschmidt tied a club record by reaching base in nine consecutive plate appearances Tuesday and Wednesday. He's driven in at least two runs in five straight starts.
4/27/2017 Ryan Schimpf, SD, 3B
Schimpf hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the ninth inning of the Padres' 8-5 victory over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday at Chase Field.

Analysis: Schimpf was 6 for 60 this season with half of his hits for homers before his last at-bat. He has five of his 24 career homers in 26 at-bats at Chase, and he has seven homers in all venues against Arizona.
4/27/2017 Cole Hamels, Tex, P
Hamels (2-0) beat the Twins on Wednesday despite a shaky outing as he allowed three runs, seven hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings. He had only one strikeout.

Analysis: Hamels has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his five starts despite a horrific walk-to-strikeout ratio. He's walked 12 and fanned 15 in 32 2/3 innings. He's next scheduled to pitch Tuesday in Houston, and he was 2-0 with a 1.66 ERA in three outings against the Astros last year.
4/27/2017 Rougned Odor, Tex, 2B
Odor reached base four times Wednesday, including two singles, as he drove in two runs and scored once.

Analysis: Maybe this can help spark Odor after he entered the game batting .183 with just three walks all season. He has three RBIs in the last three games after going 11 straight without one.
4/27/2017 Elvis Andrus, Tex, SS
Andrus was 2 for 4 with a walk, two RBIs and a run Wednesday.

Analysis: Andrus had been 3 for 24 without scoring a run in his previous six games. He also drew a walk for the first time since April 9.
4/27/2017 Delino DeShields, Tex, CF
DeShields singled twice, walked three times, drove in a run and scored three Wednesday. He stole two bases and was caught once.

Analysis: Rangers manager Jeff Banister shook up the lineup in an effort to jump-start a struggling offense, including moving DeShields to the leadoff spot. He could stay there a while after his terrific performance Wednesday and showing patience at the plate. DeShields had walked only once in his previous 33 games.
4/27/2017 Miguel Sanó, Min, 3B
Sano had three singles Wednesday but didn't drive in or score a run.

Analysis: Sano had his second consecutive three-hit game as he appeals a one-game suspension for what were deemed ''aggressive actions'' that caused the benches to clear Saturday against Detroit. If the suspension does happen, he might want to serve it this weekend with the Twins in Kansas City, where Sano was 3 for 34 (.088) last season.
4/27/2017 Shin-soo Choo, Tex, RF
Choo came up a double shy of the cycle Wednesday, driving in three runs and scoring three.

Analysis: Maybe a drop in the order took some pressure off Choo. He batted ninth for the first time in his career after spending most of the season in the No. 2 hole, a spot in which he's batted .200 with two RBIs in 13 games. Choo became the first Rangers player since at least 1984 with a triple and homer in the same inning.
4/27/2017 Ryan Rua, Tex, LF
Rua went 2 for 5 with his first career grand slam Wednesday.

Analysis: This could be the spark Rua needs after entering the game batting .138 with no RBIs, but for now, he's just a part-time player.
4/27/2017 Tyler Chatwood, Col, P
Chatwood allowed season highs of five runs and eight hits - including two homers - in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Nationals. He walked three and struck out four.

Analysis: Chatwood has served up seven home runs through five outings. ''My misses are bad right now,'' he said. ''That's the big thing that's hurting me.'' The right-hander fell to 5-10 with a 6.30 ERA at home since the start of last season, so he should be happy to next be pitching Tuesday in San Diego. He's 3-0 with a 2.32 ERA in five starts at Petco Park.
4/27/2017 Tanner Roark, Was, P
Roark improved to 3-0 on Wednesday as he allowed two runs and four hits in five innings against the Mets, walking four and striking four.

Analysis: Control problems again were an issue for Roark, who needed 104 pitches just to get through five frames. His 73 walks last season tied for fifth-most in the NL, and he has 10 through five starts this year but hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of them.
4/27/2017 Daniel Murphy, Was, 2B
Murphy had a three-run homer, a single and two runs Wednesday.

Analysis: Murphy has driven in a whopping 12 runs in the last four games to tie teammate Bryce Harper for the major league lead with 22 RBIs.
4/27/2017 Ryan Zimmerman, Was, 1B
Zimmerman went 3 for 5 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs Wednesday.

Analysis: Zimmerman has gone deep in three of his last four games and has been red-hot over the past nine, batting .455 with five homers and 15 RBIs.
4/27/2017 Trea Turner, Was, SS
Turner came up a triple shy of posting a second consecutive cycle, going 3 for 5 with two RBIs and three runs Wednesday.

Analysis: ''He's going to have a lot of cycles in his career. That's just who he is and type of player he is,'' teammate Bryce Harper said. Six of Turner's eight hits in the past three games have gone for extra bases. The leadoff man has scored 10 runs in the last five games, springing to life after an injury-plagued slow start to the season.
4/27/2017 Bryce Harper, Was, RF
Bryce Harper went 4 for 4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs Wednesday.

Analysis: It was the fifth career four-hit game and third this season for Harper, who leads all of baseball with a .432 average. He's been particularly scary in the last 10 games as he's reached base in more than two-thirds of his plate appearances, batting .588 with nine walks and 14 RBIs.
4/27/2017 Julio Teheran, Atl, P
Teheran improved to 2-1 on Wednesday after beating the Mets, overcoming four walks as he gave up two runs and four hits in 6 1/3 innings while striking out four.

Analysis: Teheran is 4-0 with a 0.91 ERA in his last seven starts against New York dating to June 21, 2015, and he's scheduled to face the Mets again on Monday.
4/27/2017 Freddie Freeman, Atl, 1B
Freeman went 2 for 4 with a walk and a run scored Wednesday.

Analysis: Freeman is second in the majors with a .500 OBP while batting .388 and scoring 17 runs but has just nine RBIs.
4/27/2017 Nick Markakis, Atl, RF
Markakis went 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs Wednesday.

Analysis: Markakis is batting .292 and has a .370 OBP but has only six extra-base hits through 18 games, so he's not a great fantasy outfield option yet despite hitting in the middle of Atlanta's lineup.
4/27/2017 Matt Kemp, Atl, RF
Kemp went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's road win over the Mets.

Analysis: Kemp is a career .351 hitter at Citi Field, including 8 for 18 with five RBIs in four games this year.
